Raquel Beezley, Miss California USA 2008
Raquel Beezley, has been crowned as Miss California USA 2008 after Christina Silva has been relinquished! Raquel Beezley was originally named the second runner-up during the annual state beauty pageant where Christina Silva was declared as the winner due to wrongly human-made accounting errors on November 25.
“They never could explain their accounting error, but told me that if I didn’t give up my crown to Miss Barstow, my personal integrity could be questioned, and my career could potentially suffer,” said Christina Silva after feeling pressure to step down.
As a reconciliation way, the pageant organisers have allowed Silva to keep her crown, sash and necklace and returned her $1,500 entry fee while duplicates were being made for Beezley.
